GTU Water Management Institute and Ecocenter for Environmental protection director prof. Givi Gavardashvili and assist. prof. Ina Živatkauskienė, Head of Department Environmental Engineering, Kaunas university of Applied Sciences signed agreement by member of the international research and projects related to environmental engineering and environmental protection.

The agreement will let more actively cooperate in the field of applied research at the international level.

During the meeting it was discussed of the possibility for students’ to involve in applied research and about concept of final teses, wich can be prepared between two institutions.

During success meeting it was decided to continue to cooperate and to exchange students between institutionsmore more actively.








This year, Kauno kolegija / University of Applied Sciences (KK) together with Latvia University of Agriculture organizes the 1st International contest “AgroTechnologist 2017”. Lithuanian and foreign students majoring in agricultural technology, agribusiness and other technologies related to farming are invited to participate.

The contest will include two stages. In the first one on March 20th, the participants will take test in a remote way. The tasks of the test will relate to the issues of soil ecosystems, agricultural machinery, plant and environmental protection.

Teams who received the best results, will be invited to participate in the second stage, i. e. on May 26th, in Kaunas. The participants of the contest will have to accomplish practical tasks in the laboratories of agricultural product quality detection and real biodynamic farm.

Registration is going until 2017, March 13th. Registration is available for the team of students which consists of 4 individuals.

International Contest „AgroTechnologist 2017“ rules



We are kindly inviting to the 1st International Conference


which will be held on March 4, 2015 at Kauno kolegija/University of Applied Sciences (Lithuania).

 Conference is organised by the Faculty of Technologies and Landscaping of Kauno kolegija/University of Applied Sciences (Lithuania).

Venue: the conference will take place at Kauno Kolegija/University of Applied Sciences, Pramonės pr. 22A, Kaunas, Lithuania.

The main goal of the conference is to promote scientific discussion and share ideas about the technological innovations, eco-innovations and technology-based entrepreneurship as drivers for economic growth and social change in regions.

Sub-topics of the conference:

- innovative technologies, innovative cities and regions;

- (eco) technological innovations (renewable energy, eco electronics, healthy nutrition, body ecology diet, etc.) and change in a region;

- good practice of technology-based entrepreneurship (adaption of innovative technologies for company, industry development in a region).


Languages of the conference: Lithuanian, English, Russian.

The following modes of participation are suggested for the conference participants:

- paper presentations. 15 minutes for the presentation are allocated. All paper presentations will be grouped into paper sessions. Each paper session will have a chair-person. Handouts before the conference are highly appreciated.

- presentations at the plenary session. These presentations are given by keynote speakers, who are invited by the Scientific Committee of the Conference and who are recognised specialists in the area. 30 minutes for the presentation are allocated.

- posters – presentations of scientific work in a graphical form. At the time of poster presentation, at least one of the authors must be present.

Kauno kolegija is at the 1st place in colleges’ ranking preparing Agricultural sciences professionals

The Magazine “Reitingai” determined universities and colleges which prepares the best specialists in specific study fields in Lithuania.

There were assessed 70 study fields and determined that specialist are best prepared in 10 study fields at Kauno kolegija/University of Applied Sciences.

According to the provided data of the magazine, Kauno kolegija is at the 1st place in colleges’ ranking preparing Agricultural sciences professionals.

The study programmes Agribusiness technology and Sustainable farming are realized at the Department of Gardening and Agro Technologies.

Lithuanian colleges were evaluated by 50 criteria. The main criterions were assessing citations in scientific journals, the opinion of employers, academic staff, alumni activities, facilities and student attitudes. The survey involved 4,600 students and more than 1,000 employers.
